My Story
Daniel Gras, originally from Cape May NJ, grew up in the restaurant and food service business. His grandfather was chef (pictured above) and had a restaurant in France and his father is a classically trained French baker. Daniel grew up in his dads bakery. Some of his earliest memories are standing on a crate and throwing bread dough into the roller machine. He officially started working in the restaurant business when he was 13 as a bus boy, and quickly was moved into the kitchen where he found his true passion. He attended Johnson & Wales University and graduated with degrees in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management. He has worked in every type of restaurant from Irish to Japanese, and everything in between. He draws on these experiences and his French heritage to create a variety of delicious and unique dishes. He most recently was the Executive chef at the Dubliner on the Delaware & Fiona's in Frenchtown. Now, his dream of owning his own restaurant has finally come true. Daniel named the restaurant “Chez Daniel” as an homage to his French heritage. And he looks forward to serving you soon.
